The Duanesburg Area Community Center is a not for profit organization located in western
Schenectady County in the Town of Duanesburg New York. The DACC is a community organization
providing programs and services to youth, students, adults, families and seniors.
The DACC staff works together as a team with the Board of Directors, committees and
volunteers in an atmosphere that is fast paced, challenging and fun.
Life Guard
Position Title: Lifeguard Reports To: Aquatics Director
General Function As a member of the DACC Aquatic Department, the Life guard is responsible for providing members and guest with a safe, clean, and enjoyable setting while responding to member needs as they relate to the use of the aquatic program areas.
Job Requirements (Include education, experience and specific competencies) - Minimum age 18 - Current certification in CPR for the professional life guard - Excellent member relation and customer service skills. - Ability to save lives and responds effectively to emergency situations in and around the pool. - Must have the physical, visual and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the position: that being to prevent accidents and provide assistance should an emergency situation arise.
Principal Responsibilities:
1.Provide a clean, safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for our members and guest while they are using the DACC aquatic program area. 2. Follow the protocol of their certifying agency, The DACC. 3. To be knowledgeable of life guarding regulations established by the DACC, the American Red Cross, the State of NY and Schenectady County Health Department. Any problems or issues will be reported directly to the Aquatics Director. 4. To be knowledgeable of all pool equipment and ensure that they are working properly, and to report any issues or problems to the maintenance Director or the Aquatic Director. 5. Attend all meetings and training sessions as mandated by the Aquatics Director. 6. Accurate and thoroughly record chemical readings, water temperature, pool inspections, accident/incident reports,, and participant statistics, etc. 7. Arrive on the pool deck ready to work, on time, dressed in your uniform, and in possession of all necessary equipment. 8. Arrange for a substitute and inform the Aquatic Director if you are unable to work one of your schedule shifts. 9. Keep you full attention on the pool and its occupants at all times as you sit in the life guard chair or walk around the pool perimeter. 10. All other duties assigned by your supervisor

The satisfactory performance of the Life Guard will result in consistent safe and high quality Aquatic experience.
Aquatics Instructor
Position Title: Aquatics Instructor Reports To: Aquatics Director
General Function As a member of the DACC Aquatic Department, the LifInstructor is responsible for providing members and guest with a safe, and enjoyable class while responding to member needs as they relate to the use of the aquatic program areas and classes.
